ASIS Chapter 104
Meet  Ivette McCoy:

Ivette McCoy was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in the Bronx, NY. After
graduating from the Bronx High School of Science, she attended Mercy
College in Dobbs Ferry, NY receiving a Bachelor of Science Degree in
Accounting. In her freshman year, she obtained a job with the U.S. Postal
Service and worked there for a total of 32 years before retiring in 2011.

Ms. McCoy continued her post-graduate education, receiving a Masters in
Business Administration, from the Long Island University in 1990. In 1992,
she passed the Oregon State CPA exam.

After working for the U.S.P.S. for 8 years, Ms. McCoy applied to become a
Postal Inspector with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service – the law
enforcement arm of the U.S. Postal Service.  As a U.S. Postal Inspector, with
17 years in Portland, OR and 7 years in Miami, FL, Ivette investigated
numerous violations of postal law – such as misappropriations of Postal
funds, mail fraud, mail theft, and counterfeit documents. Her most recent
assignment involved loss prevention, physical security and personnel
security.

In August 2007, Ivette McCoy received her CPP Certification from the ASIS
Professional Certification Board. She has been Chapter 104’s Treasurer
since 2008.

Ivette McCoy has been married to Gregory McCoy for over 25 years, and they
have two young adult children, Katrina and Austin.
